Overview
Keenable builds crawler, index, and ranking infrastructure for AI agents and inference providers. Co-founders Andrey Styskin (former head of Yandex search, AI, and cloud; later Amazon search infra) and Matthias Petri came out of stealth on August 25, 2026 with a $26 million seed led by Accel, with Conviction Partners and angels. TechCrunch: the company claims an index of more than 100 billion documents, production use at several unnamed AI labs and inference providers, a Gradium partnership for live retrieval, and an upcoming Web Query Language product. Accel partner Zhenya Loginov led. Team of about 15 across the U.S. and Europe, planning to double by year-end. Accel does not have a Venture Capital Tracker fund page.
Why Keenable is interesting
August 25, 2026: $26M seed led by Accel (Conviction participating) as Google and Microsoft restrict general search APIs. Company: 100B+ document index already in production at undisclosed AI labs. Accel has no /fund/ page here.
Product & use cases
Web search and content APIs (REST, MCP, CLI) over an independent index aimed at agent grounding, training, and runtime retrieval rather than human SERPs.
- Grounding chatbot and agent answers in source documents
- Training-time and runtime retrieval for AI labs and inference providers
- Voice agents that need live web lookup (Gradium partnership)

Competitive landscape
Edge: Index and serving path designed for agent query volume and cost, while incumbents restrict generic search APIs. That is a thesis, not a disclosed customer list.
Keenable is a seed bet that agents need a third-party web index because Google and Microsoft will not sell one cheaply. Diligence is named production customers and cost per query, not the 100B document slide.
-
Google / Microsoft search APIs incumbent
Accel’s stated gap: hyperscalers bundling or shutting general search APIs (TechCrunch).
-
Exa / Brave direct
Named as other independent retrieval players in the TechCrunch launch piece.
Notable stories
- Co-founder Andrey Styskin previously ran Yandex’s search, AI, and cloud division and later worked on web search infrastructure for AI applications at Amazon (TechCrunch, Aug 25, 2026).
