Miami & Florida Startups We Cover (2026): LatAm Gateway Directory
Florida and LatAm-gateway companies in our startup directory — Jeeves (Miami HQ), Meta4 Capital (Miami, fund-like), plus Datanomik and Vaas as LatAm coverage — with honest HQ labels and gaps.
Short answer (as of July 2026): In our startup directory, the clearest Miami / Florida footprints are Jeeves (corporate cards and expense stack for international startups; HQ commonly cited as Miami, Florida) and Meta4 Capital (Miami-based crypto investment manager — fund-like, not a classic operating startup). Datanomik (Montevideo, Uruguay) and Vaas (Colombia) sit on this page as LatAm gateway coverage, not Florida HQs. Coverage is intentionally thin — see gaps below.

Scope
Primary job: Help founders and investors see which VCT companies map to Miami / Florida versus the broader LatAm corridor that South Florida markets itself on.
Includes: Directory startups with a Miami HQ claim, Miami-based fund entity, or explicit LatAm product thesis tied to a16z (and other) coverage we already publish.
Excludes: Invented Florida HQs; SoftBank-only portfolio names without a /startup/ page; pretending Meta4 is a SaaS startup.
Companies we cover (Florida footprint vs LatAm gateway)
| Startup | One-liner | HQ / geography label | Stage / status | Profile | Notable investors (VCT) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jeeves | Global expense management and corporate cards for startups in LatAm and beyond | HQ commonly cited as Miami, FL (no hq field in JSON yet) | Growth / private | /startup/jeeves | a16z (Series A lead); CRV (Series B & C leads) |
| Meta4 Capital | Miami NFT investment fund (Meta4 NFT Fund I) anchored by a16z crypto | Miami, FL (fund manager — not an operating startup) | Other / private | /startup/meta4-capital | a16z (anchor) |
| Datanomik | LatAm open-banking API for multi-bank financial data / CFO tooling | Montevideo, Uruguay (not Florida) | Stub-thin facts / private | /startup/datanomik | a16z ($6M seed lead, Mar 2022) |
| Vaas | LatAm fintech automating structured-debt / credit-facility ops for lenders | Colombia (commonly cited Valle del Cauca / Cali area — not Florida) | Seed / private | /startup/vaas | a16z ($5M seed lead, Feb 2023) |
Florida footprint: what we can say with confidence
Jeeves is the best “Miami operating company” example in this set. Product: corporate cards, expense management, and cross-border payments for startups operating internationally, with strong LatAm adoption. Why it matters: it bundles multi-country spend controls and FX into one stack instead of forcing finance teams to stitch local banks. Public funding highlights on the profile include a16z-led Series A (2021), CRV-led Series B ($57M at a reported $500M valuation, Sep 2021), and CRV-led Series C ($180M, Mar 2022) with GIC and Tencent named in press (not in our fund directory). Remains private as of July 2026.
Meta4 Capital is the clearest Miami-native entity — and the easiest to mis-label. It is a cryptocurrency investment manager that launched Meta4 NFT Fund I (Oct 2021) with a16z crypto as lead anchor, targeting rare digital collectibles and metaverse assets (fund targeting up to ~$100M in contemporaneous coverage). Use this page to understand Miami’s web3 capital layer; do not put Meta4 in a “startups to watch” SaaS shortlist.
LatAm gateway (not Florida HQ)
Miami’s pitch to founders — reinforced in Venture Week Miami 2026 — is the U.S.–LatAm bridge. These two directory companies illustrate that thesis without pretending they sit in Brickell:
Datanomik — Uruguay-based open-banking API standardizing multi-bank data for CFO tooling. Why interesting: founded by ex-dLocal / AstroPay operators; a16z’s first Uruguay bet and one of its larger LatAm seeds at the time ($6M, Mar 2022; Canary, Nazca, Latitud in press). Coverage remains thin on product milestones after seed.
Vaas — Digitizes credit agreements and collateral monitoring for private credit in Latin America. Why interesting: a16z-led $5M seed (Feb 2023) with Nazca, Maya Capital, and Latitud named on the company blog. Directory industries tag is still generalist; treat product detail as expanding.
Related mention (not a Florida claim)
Cryptoys (OnChain Studios) appears in our a16z portfolio coverage; a seed highlight cites Refresh Miami reporting. That is a press-source tag, not proof of a Miami HQ. Keep it out of the Florida footprint table until we have a verified location field.
Other LatAm names in the directory (Rappi, Addi, Tapi, Loft, etc.) matter for the corridor thesis but are not Florida companies — use industry and fund pages rather than stuffing them into a Miami HQ list.
Coverage gaps (honest)
We are not claiming a complete Florida startup map. Material gaps for a Miami hub:
| Gap | Why it matters | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Lula (Miami insurance infra) | Co-led Series A by Founders Fund + Khosla; often cited Miami native success | No startup profile in our directory yet |
| SoftBank Miami Initiative portfolio | Frequently named in South Florida capital narratives | SoftBank fund profile missing; many portfolio cos not in directory |
| Local seed-backed B2B (non-a16z) | Most Miami seeds never touch a16z/Tiger | Thin in VCT vs local press |
Structured hq on Jeeves / others | Needed for machine-clean city filters | Pending data pass |
| Operating web3 cos vs Meta4 | Miami crypto story is more than one NFT fund | Expand carefully; avoid hype stubs |
If a company only appears as a one-line press mention, it stays a gap — not a fake profile.
How to use this hub
- Founders raising in Miami: Use Jeeves as a comps / customer-finance reference; use Datanomik and Vaas only if your GTM is truly LatAm infrastructure.
- Investors mapping the corridor: Pair this table with Miami VC firms — LatAm gateway. a16z is the densest overlapping LP/GP signal in our dataset; local seed leads are still underrepresented.
- Researchers: Separate fact (round sizes on profiles) from editorial (gateway thesis). Meta4 is labeled fund-like on purpose.
- Next click: Venture Week Miami 2026 for the $2.02B / 161-deal frame, then /directory for funds.
