DENMU's June 24 announcement disclosed that the manager had secured a majority of the commitments toward the original $50M target. It did not quantify an exact first close. The November 5 final-close release reported aggregate commitments above that target, without specifying how far above. Adding June's majority commitments to November's total would double count the same fund. Another fund database describes the final amount as $50M exactly; that loses the source's important "above target" qualification.
Who can seek funding: an illustrative founder tour
A development studio evaluating DENMU would first identify a distinctive game vision and target audience. Next, it would bring a demo or prototype, production budget, project milestones and commercial plans. It would then consider whether it needs a single-title project commitment, financing across a slate, or investment at studio level. The fourth question is whether DENMU's publishing, localization and cross-border distribution expertise would help. Finally, it would negotiate recoupment, IP ownership, milestones and participation in revenue or equity. This five-step sequence is illustrative analysis, not a documented application procedure or a claim about DENMU's standard terms. The different instruments can create very different studio dilution and royalty exposure.
Portfolio evidence and limits
DENMU names Fuse Games, which developed STAR WARS: Galactic Racer, and projects including Dark Star Games' DABA: Land of Water Scar, Maverick Games' CLUTCH, Regular Studio's MOTORSLICE and The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. Some titles are already released; DABA and CLUTCH have scheduled 2027 releases, not proven 2027 revenue. Its claims about game review scores reflect a selected released-game portfolio and are not audited fund performance. PlayStation's China Hero Project is a collaboration, not evidence Sony is a limited partner.
The manager has not disclosed LP identities, fee/carry economics, deployment rate, realized returns, ownership/royalty terms, or the precise cash invested in individual developers.
