Arcturus Agrees to Acquire myNEO for AI-Assisted mRNA Discovery
Arcturus Therapeutics signed a definitive agreement to acquire Belgian AI drug-discovery company myNEO. Terms are undisclosed, and closing is expected in October subject to customary conditions.
Arcturus Therapeutics signed a definitive agreement to acquire myNEO, a Belgian AI drug-discovery company, on September 23, 2026.
The purchase price was not disclosed. Arcturus expects the transaction to close in October, subject to customary conditions, so this is a signed agreement rather than a completed acquisition.

Why Arcturus wants myNEO
Arcturus develops messenger-RNA medicines using its LUNAR delivery platform and related manufacturing capabilities. myNEO uses computational methods to identify biological targets and design therapeutic candidates.
The companies have worked together since 2024. Arcturus said bringing myNEO in-house should improve mRNA design quality, accelerate innovation and strengthen target identification. The acquisition therefore adds an upstream discovery capability to a company whose better-known assets are delivery technology and clinical programs.
That vertical integration could shorten iteration between target selection, molecule design and delivery testing. It also creates execution risk: computational discovery teams and clinical-development organisations use different processes, timelines and success measures.
Keep the acquisition separate from the clinical update
Arcturus disclosed the myNEO agreement alongside interim Phase 2 data for ARCT-810 and the introduction of its LUNAR 2.0 platform. Those announcements provide strategic context but are not acquisition consideration.
Likewise, the company’s reported preclinical expression improvements for LUNAR 2.0 should not be treated as proof that myNEO’s platform will improve human clinical outcomes.
What remains unknown
Arcturus did not disclose cash-versus-stock consideration, earnouts, retention packages, myNEO revenue or the number of employees joining. The transaction remains subject to closing conditions.
Bottom line
Arcturus has agreed to acquire myNEO; it has not yet said the deal closed. The rationale is to combine AI-assisted target and mRNA design with Arcturus’s delivery and clinical-development infrastructure, while the economics remain undisclosed.
