# Sonexos Raises ~$6.1M to Bring Plasma Noise Control Into Machines

> Valquest-led equity funds paid prototype integrations and qualification. Early-2028 production remains a target; SIT’s partnership is distinct from volume orders.

[Sonexos](/startup/sonexos) announced **about $6.1M in new equity financing (CHF5M) on October 21, 2026**, led by Valquest Partners with Bosch Ventures participating. The Swiss company has paid prototype-integration programmes, but its most advanced projects target series production only in early 2028. The investment finances the difficult interval between a convincing demonstration and a component manufacturers can ship reliably.

The [company’s dated release](https://sonexos.com/pre-series-a/) calls the round Pre-Series A and supplies the approximate USD equivalent. Valuation, revenue and individual investor commitments remain undisclosed. Later coverage dated October 26 describes the same financing, not another round.

## What manufacturers would buy

The problem is the low-frequency hum from fans, compressors and motors. Foam and conventional silencers can require substantial space to address it. Sonexos’ [technology description](https://sonexos.com/technology/) explains a different approach: electrically controlling an ionized gas layer so that a thin surface absorbs sound. It requires electronics and active control rather than relying entirely on material thickness.

Sonexos proposes selling integrated panels with engineering support, or supplying components and software that larger equipment makers incorporate into their own production. Public materials reviewed disclose neither standard pricing nor the division between engineering fees, hardware sales and software income.

An illustrative customer is a manufacturer trying to fit quieter ventilation into a fixed enclosure. Its engineers would measure noise across operating speeds, integrate the acoustic module, then test airflow, electrical safety, durability and sound performance together. A reduction in laboratory noise is useful only if the finished product still cools effectively and passes qualification.

That is also the economic test. A smaller acoustic treatment may free space or avoid redesigning an enclosure. Any benefit must exceed the module’s purchase price, electrical consumption, integration work and lifetime servicing cost. These are VCT’s analytical considerations, not disclosed customer savings.

## A named route into cooling equipment

Sonexos and fan manufacturer SIT announced a collaboration in July. [SIT’s own announcement](https://www.sitcorporate.it/app/uploads/2026/07/MOU-SX-SIT-Final-Press-Release-20260729_ENG.pdf) confirms the relationship. It targets cooling for data centres, energy storage and industry.

The joint statement says definitive commercial agreements are expected as customer programmes develop. The programme is a route to customer evaluation, not proof of volume orders. The distinction matters because a fan’s acoustic performance must survive changes in load and installation. Cooling operators also care about airflow and operating reliability, not sound reduction in isolation.

In [Bosch Ventures’ investment statement](https://www.bosch-presse.de/pressportal/de/en/bosch-ventures-invests-in-sonexos-286464.html), managing director Ingo Ramesohl emphasizes a credible route to industrial scale. Lead investor Valquest’s Fadi Noureddine, quoted in the issuer release, similarly points to intellectual property and progress with equipment makers.

## A comparable investment, with different mechanics

[Phononic Vibes’ roughly $28M October transaction](/phononic-vibes-28m-growth-secondary-noise-control) provides a nearby industrial-acoustics comparison. It uses engineered material structures and sells noise-control products across infrastructure and industry. Sonexos instead controls a plasma layer electronically; the technologies and qualification requirements differ.

The financing comparison also has limits. Phononic Vibes’ [issuer statement](https://phononic-vibes.com/news/phononic-vibes-raises-25-million-led-by-jolt-capital/) includes a secondary stake purchase within the transaction, with the fresh-capital split undisclosed. Sonexos describes new equity financing.

Sonexos reports prototype noise reductions under specific test conditions. Those results do not establish performance across customer installations, production margins or reliability over years of operation. Repeat production orders following qualification will be more persuasive than the largest decibel reduction in a prototype test.
