# Cyera's $20B Valuation Talks: Funding History, Revenue Math and Wiz

> Cyera reportedly discussed a $20B valuation, not a closed round. See $2.7B funding history, disputed ARR figures, Oasis's $1B deal and the Wiz comparison.

**Updated October 31, 2026 | Status: reported fundraising discussions, not a completed round.** **Cyera has spoken with investors about raising money at a possible $20 billion valuation**, according to an October 29 report from The Information. The size of any financing, its investors, terms and closing date are not known. Cyera declined to comment. Its last precisely disclosed valuation was **$12 billion in June 2026**, while its September Series G extension was described as valuing Cyera at **more than $12 billion**, without a fresh exact figure.

This matters to venture investors because the real question is not simply whether the company could become "the next Wiz." Cyera is trying to join the **data**, **data loss prevention (DLP)**, **AI security** and **non-human identity** disciplines in one business. Whether that integration works economically is still an open question.

## Cyera's $20 billion valuation: what is confirmed and what is not

| Claim | Status as of Oct. 31, 2026 | Evidence |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Cyera discussed a possible $20B valuation | **Reported, not completed** | The Information, Oct. 29 |
| $600M Series G at $12B | **Company-announced** | June 10, 2026 |
| $400M added to Series G | **Company-announced** | Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Sept. 22 |
| September round established a new $20B valuation | **No** | Cyera used "more than $12B" |
| $1B acquisition of Oasis Security | **Completed** | Cyera, Sept. 3 |
| Current ARR, profit and exact new financing terms | **Not publicly established** | Private-company disclosure is limited |

[The Information's original report](https://www.theinformation.com/briefings/exclusive-cybersecurity-mania-push-cyera-valuation-20-billion) attributes the talks to people familiar with the matter; [Cyera's September announcement](https://www.cyera.com/press-releases/cyera-announces-400-million-investment-from-goldman-sachs-to-build-the-trust-layer-for-the-agentic-enterprise) remains the clearest primary source for its last completed financing. Even a well-sourced discussion is **not a priced transaction**. The $20B number should not be entered as a completed startup funding round.

## Cyera funding history: from $60 million to about $2.7 billion

The clearest way to avoid double-counting is to reconstruct every announced round, including the 2022 initial financing and the September 2026 **extension** of Series G.

| Announcement | Financing | Valuation |
| --- | ---: | ---: |
| March 2022: initial financing (seed and Series A combined) | $60M | Not disclosed |
| June 2023: Series B | $100M | Not disclosed |
| April 2024: Series C | $300M | $1.4B |
| November 2024: Series D | $300M | $3B |
| June 2025: Series E | $540M | $6B |
| January 2026: Series F | $400M | $9B |
| June 2026: Series G | $600M | $12B |
| September 2026: Series G extension | $400M | Company says more than $12B |
| October 2026: possible next financing | **No round announced** | $20B **reported talks** |

Adding the eight disclosed amounts gives **$2.7B of announced financing**, subject to the usual distinction between announced and completed funding mechanics. The three capital announcements during 2026 alone total **$1.4B**. Do not add the $1B Oasis purchase price to capital *raised*: acquisitions spend or exchange value, rather than raise new equity in the buyer.

The progression is striking. From the **$3B November 2024 Series D** to the **$12B June 2026 Series G**, Cyera's priced valuation quadrupled in roughly 19 months. A hypothetical $20B new valuation would be **66.7% above $12B**.

For the underlying company data, see [Cyera's company and funding profile](/startup/cyera), our original [June Series G coverage](/2026-cyera-600m-12b-data-security) and the [Goldman Sachs extension analysis](/2026-cyera-400m-goldman-series-g-extension).

## Can Cyera's revenue justify a $20B valuation?

**Cyera does not publish audited current annual recurring revenue (ARR), net revenue retention, gross margin or operating cash flow.** [TechCrunch reported](https://techcrunch.com/2026/06/02/cyera-eyes-12b-valuation-at-80x-arr-multiple-despite-operating-losses/) in June that sources put Cyera above **$150M ARR** and described it as loss-making. Crucially, Cyera's spokesperson said the financial figures were **significantly inaccurate**. Investors should therefore treat $150M as a **disputed media estimate**, not a financial disclosure.

Here is the math, using deliberately **hypothetical** ARR amounts. The valuation figures are equity prices; the multiples below are simple **equity valuation divided by ARR**, not enterprise-value/revenue multiples.

| Illustrative ARR, not company guidance | At $12B | At a hypothetical $20B |
| --- | ---: | ---: |
| $150M — similar to disputed media report | 80x | 133x |
| $200M — illustration only | 60x | 100x |
| $300M — illustration only | 40x | 67x |
| $500M — illustration only | 24x | 40x |

A $20B valuation at a much less extreme **20x ARR** would require **$1B ARR**. If Cyera hypothetically had $200M today, reaching $1B in three years would mean fivefold ARR expansion or approximately **71% compound annual growth**. This is a scenario, not a Cyera financial forecast. Cyera says it tripled ARR three consecutive years, but that growth claim does not tell us current ARR or how much came from acquisitions.

Four questions matter more than the headline multiple:

1. **Organic versus acquired growth:** how much of Cyera's reported growth comes from newly won business rather than added acquisition revenue?
2. **Expansion and churn:** how many customers buy more than one module, and at what retention rates?
3. **Economics:** what are gross margin, cash burn, sales efficiency and integration costs after the acquisition campaign?
4. **Financing quality:** if a new round happens, what valuation is actually priced and what preferences or secondary components change the economics?

Without those disclosures, calling the company definitely overvalued or fairly valued would go beyond the evidence.

## The $1B Oasis Security acquisition changes the investment thesis

Cyera [completed its purchase of Oasis Security](https://www.cyera.com/de/press-releases/cyera-completes-acquisition-of-oasis-security) on September 3, 2026, for an announced **$1 billion** transaction value. Oasis's specialty is **non-human identity (NHI)**: machine accounts, secrets, integration credentials and AI agents that can access data without acting like employee users.

Put simply, data security asks **"What information is sensitive?"** Identity security asks **"Who or what can access it?"** Combining the two could give a company more useful protection for an AI agent that reads a database, calls a SaaS API and writes results elsewhere.

Cyera had already made five acquisitions by June 2026, including Trail Security, Shape AI, Otterize, Ryft and Genie. Oasis became the sixth. That is a broader product portfolio, but not automatically **one product**. Cyera's [September 30 product update](https://www.cyera.com/blog/bring-data-and-identity-together-to-secure-the-agentic-enterprise) stated existing Oasis customers would **remain on the Oasis platform** while teams worked on integration.

This is a concrete investor due-diligence test: are customers operating one coherent inventory and control system, or coordinating multiple tools from the same seller? ## Cyera vs Wiz: why the $32B comparison can mislead

Google originally announced a **$32B deal for Wiz**, but the company [completed the acquisition on March 11, 2026](https://blog.google/innovation-and-ai/infrastructure-and-cloud/google-cloud/wiz-acquisition/); Alphabet's [SEC filing](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1652044/000165204426000071/goog-20260630.htm) records an adjusted purchase price of about **$29.5B**, excluding certain post-combination compensation. The headline announcement and accounting purchase price are not interchangeable.

Wiz began with **cloud posture, workloads and attack-path security (CNAPP)**. Cyera began with **sensitive-data discovery/classification (DSPM)**, then added DLP, AI and identity. The markets overlap, but the budgets do not form four independent pools that can simply be summed.

[TechCrunch reported](https://techcrunch.com/2026/03/11/google-completes-32b-acquisition-of-wiz/) that Wiz passed **$1B ARR in 2025**. On that reported revenue floor, the roughly $29.5B adjusted purchase price would be **below 29.5x ARR**; this is a rough cross-period comparison of purchase price and reported ARR, not a normalized acquisition multiple. By contrast, a hypothetical $20B Cyera price at $200M ARR would be **100x**. Nobody should draw a firm conclusion until Cyera reports comparable revenue and economics.

## Who else could compete with Cyera?

**Varonis** and **BigID** compete on sensitive-data discovery and data access. **Microsoft Purview** competes with DLP, data security posture and increasingly AI-agent governance, particularly in Microsoft-heavy enterprises. **Wiz/Google Cloud** competes for cloud security graph, posture and adjacent AI/data protection needs.

The relevant competition is not a generic tally of marketing categories. It is which product can detect the exposed data, map the actual agent or service identity, enforce a safe action, and fit the customer's stack and budget.

## How to evaluate Cyera's next financing: an investor checklist

The strongest bull case is a company that becomes the **data-aware authorization and governance layer for AI agents**, and wins larger enterprise contracts through integration. The bear case is **a premium-valued collection of acquired tools** that are expensive to combine while bundled cloud/security incumbents converge on the same budgets.

For the next financing, the evidence-based watchlist is a **signed round and terms**, **auditable ARR and margins**, **organic growth and retention**, and **real multi-product deployment results**. The $20B number today is a reported possibility; the $1B Oasis deal is the completed strategic action.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is Cyera worth $20 billion?
Not as a confirmed financing price. The Information reported early talks about that valuation October 29, 2026. Cyera's last exact disclosed priced mark was $12B in June; its September extension said more than $12B.

### How much has Cyera raised?
Approximately $2.7B in announced financing from 2022 through September 2026. The September $400M is an extension of the June Series G.

### What is Cyera's revenue in 2026?
A verified current figure is not public. TechCrunch reported above $150M ARR in June but Cyera disputed the financial numbers. Tables in this analysis are scenarios, not company guidance.

### Is Cyera larger than Wiz?
No direct comparison is possible from valuation alone. Wiz was acquired by Google in March 2026, with a $32B announced agreement and ~$29.5B adjusted accounting purchase price. Cyera is privately held and its $20B talk is unclosed.

### What does Oasis add to Cyera?
Non-human identity discovery and access management for service accounts, machine credentials and AI agents, paired with Cyera's data classification and DLP. Product integration remained ongoing as of September 2026.
